Join us as we venture deep into the desert with our guide and friend, Sytze. Having moved to Egypt decades ago, Sytze started as a diving instructor searching for his purpose. Along the way, he discovered his path to silence — waking in the desert.
Now, through his company, El Gouna Mountain Goats, Sytze takes travelers on immersive desert journeys, offering a unique blend of serenity, local Bedouin food, breathtaking landscapes, and a sense of community between cultures.
On this trip, we went further into the desert to explore ancient Roman ruins. Over 2,000 years ago, the Romans established an intricate network within the desert to harvest stones for temples and pillars, which were then transported all the way to Rome. The traces of their presence remain to this day.
Along the way, we also dive into Sytze’s personal journey, giving you a glimpse of what it truly means to live like an Egyptian mountain goat—embracing both the beauty and solitude of the desert. 🌌✨🎆
